About the Alchemy Study Program and the Great Work

Explore the philosophical foundations of alchemy and trace their evolution from ancient Egyptian origins to contemporary interpretations. The curriculum covers the Emerald Tablet, Hermeticism, the Perennial Philosophy, alchemy as the precursor to modern science, archetypes, theories of transmutation, and fundamental alchemical operations. These are examined through Egyptian, Oriental, Greek, Islamic, and European traditions. The ASP is a comprehensive repository of alchemical knowledge and practice, designed to familiarize students with the principles of alchemy and Hermeticism. Students who want a more in-depth understanding of the Great Work and the Soror Mystica practices are advised to enroll in the Watercourse Alchemy course, which includes the practice and analysis of the Emerald Tablet not covered in the ASP curriculum. The ASP curriculum was compiled and written by Dennis William Hauck, drawing on original alchemical course materials that circulated in Europe in the 1960s, with Alchemy Guild roots in the 1500s. It has since been refined and expanded by Krys (Melusina de Melita) and John Hernandez. The ASP begins with Module 1 and comprises seven sequential Modules. Students have two months to finish each Module, with the option to extend for a fee. The Alchemy Center of Excellence adheres to the highest educational standards to ensure the quality and accuracy of the alchemical and Hermetic teachings. Each Module is a prerequisite for all subsequent ones. Participants must engage with all provided materials and complete an open-book multiple-choice test at the end of each Module, earning a Certificate of Achievement upon successful completion. Dedicated students can achieve mastery in the Royal Art of Alchemy, culminating in the conferral of a "Diploma in Hermetic Arts & Sciences and Alchemy." To earn the Diploma, students must complete all seven Modules, take part in mentoring sessions with one of our mentors (including an oral examination), write a thesis, and compose a concise vision statement articulating their personal approach to applying alchemy in practical scenarios. Our mentors offer guidance, profound insights, and a personalized experience embodying the Oral Tradition, which extends beyond the written materials and is transmitted in a continuous stream of consciousness.
