Alchemy Study Program

MODULE 1: ALCHEMISTIC PHILOSOPHY (0ASP1)

Description

About the Alchemy Study Program and the Great Work

Explore the philosophical foundations of alchemy and observe their evolution from ancient Egyptian origins to contemporary interpretations. The curriculum encompasses topics such as the Emerald Tablet, Hermeticism, the Perennial Philosophy, the role of alchemy as the precursor to modern science, archetypes, theories of transmutation, and fundamental alchemical operations. The progression of these concepts is examined through the lenses of Egyptian, Oriental, Greek, Islamic, and European traditions. The Alchemy Study Program's curriculum was compiled and written by Dennis William Hauck, drawing from original alchemical course materials that circulated in Europe during the 1960s, with their Alchemy Guild roots in the 1500s, and has since been further refined and expanded by Krys, also known as Melusina de Melita, and John Hernandez. The ASP serves as a comprehensive repository of alchemical knowledge, designed to familiarize students with the principles of alchemy and Hermeticism.

It is crucial to acknowledge that alchemy and the Hermetic Arts have historically been, and continue to be, an Oral Tradition, transmitted through a master-student/apprentice dynamic, as certain essential alchemical arcana and Hermetic teachings of the Great Work cannot be effectively conveyed in written form and must be directly experienced within a personal mentorship context.

The Alchemy Study Program (ASP) at the Alchemy Center of Excellence, hosted by the Domus Hermeticus Foundation, commences with Module 1 and comprises seven sequential Modules. Students are allotted a period of three months to finalize each Module, with the option to extend this timeframe for a fee of 20.00 EUR, which will be used to offset the extra costs associated with online hosting.

The Alchemy Center of Excellence adheres to the highest educational standards to ensure the high quality and accuracy of the alchemical and Hermetic teachings. Each ASP Module is a prerequisite for all subsequent ASP modules. Participants are required to engage with all provided materials and complete an open-book multiple-choice test at the conclusion of each Module. Upon successful completion, they will receive a Certificate of Achievement for each module.

The Alchemy Study Program offers dedicated students the opportunity to achieve mastery in the Royal Art of Alchemy, culminating in the conferral of a 'Diploma in Hermetic Arts & Sciences and Alchemy'. To attain this final Diploma, students must successfully complete all seven Modules, participate in mentoring sessions with one of our mentors, which includes an oral examination, compose a thesis, and create a concise vision statement that articulates their personal approach to applying alchemy in practical scenarios. Our mentors offer invaluable guidance, profound insights, and a distinctive personalized experience embodying the essence of the Oral Tradition that extends beyond the written materials, and is transferred on in a continuous stream of consciousness.

The ASP mentors currently are Krys and John. You may read more about them and other faculty members here https://www.domushermeticus.world/faculty
